Educating the Whole Child
Mind, Body, and Spirit
A Tradition of Excellence in Education
Since 1888, St. Mary School has provided a Christ-centered education to the children and families of our community. Founded by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, our school continues their mission today by offering both Montessori and traditional educational approaches rooted in the principles and teachings of the Catholic Church.
Montessori Education (Preschool–Kindergarten)
Our Montessori classrooms nurture the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually—through hands-on, self-directed learning in a carefully prepared environment. Teachers guide students as they grow in independence, confidence, and a sense of grace and courtesy.
The Montessori curriculum is centered on a child’s natural curiosity and includes key areas of study:
-
Practical Life
-
Sensorial Learning
-
Language
-
Mathematics
-
Cultural Studies
Each area is taught using specialized, sequential materials that build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Elementary Education (Grades 1–5)
Beginning in first grade, students transition to a traditional classroom setting. Our teachers provide engaging, hands-on instruction tailored to the individual needs of each child. Small class sizes allow for personalized attention and academic growth across all subject areas.
Students in third through fifth grade participate in a collaborative program called Elevate, which uses project-based learning to build essential skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and responsibility.
Middle School (Grades 6–8)
Our Middle School program prepares students for high school and beyond through a rigorous curriculum that challenges them academically while supporting their spiritual and emotional growth. Core subjects are taught by specialized teachers who provide engaging, high-level instruction in a faith-based environment.
Middle school students also participate in Agriscience, Campus Ministry, and a variety of enrichment opportunities that encourage leadership, service, and real-world application of their learning. Through these experiences, students grow in confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and learn the importance of living out their faith through action.
Faith and Academic Excellence
At St. Mary School, we believe the most powerful education integrates faith, knowledge, and service. We partner with parents in the spiritual formation of their children, providing a balanced curriculum that emphasizes moral development, academic excellence, and a commitment to serving others.
Students participate in numerous service projects throughout the year, learning the importance of compassion, leadership, and respect for all. Our dedicated faculty and volunteers foster a nurturing environment where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Our Commitment
St. Mary School welcomes students of all faiths and backgrounds. We are fully accredited by Cognia and the Kentucky Nonpublic Schools Commission, reflecting our commitment to high educational standards and continuous improvement.
We invite you to experience the difference of a St. Mary education—where faith and family come together to inspire a lifelong love of learning and service.
