Extracurricular Activities
At St. Mary School, learning goes beyond the classroom! Our students can explore their interests and develop new skills through a variety of extracurricular activities — from academic clubs and creative arts to sports and community service. These opportunities help students grow in confidence, teamwork, and leadership while having fun and building lasting friendships.

Agriculture Club
The Agriculture Club connects students to the roots of our community by exploring where our food comes from and how we care for God’s creation. Through hands-on activities, garden projects, and guest speakers, students learn about plants, animals, and sustainable living — growing knowledge, responsibility, and appreciation for the world around them.
Lego Club
Our Lego Club gives students a fun and creative way to explore building, problem-solving, and teamwork! Each meeting encourages imagination and hands-on learning as students design and construct their own creations. It’s a great opportunity to build friendships — one brick at a time!

Chess & Board Game Club
The Chess & Board Game Club invites students to think strategically, challenge their minds, and have fun in a friendly, social setting. From classic chess matches to favorite board games, students learn patience, problem-solving, and good sportsmanship — all while enjoying time with friends.
Spanish & Science Club
Our Spanish & Science Club sparks curiosity and creativity as students explore language and discovery! Through hands-on experiments and engaging cultural activities, students expand their understanding of the world — from the wonders of science to the beauty of the Spanish language. It’s learning, exploration, and fun all in one!

Academic Team
Our Academic Team challenges 4th and 5th grade students to think critically, work collaboratively, and showcase their knowledge in a variety of subjects. Students compete in Quick Recall at the district level and take part in written assessments, Quick Recall, and Future Problem Solving at the Governor’s Cup. It’s a fun and rewarding way for students to grow their confidence, sharpen their minds, and celebrate a love of learning!
Due to our school size, we also have 2nd and 3rd graders participating on our academic team.

St. Mary students have a variety of opportunities to get active, build teamwork, and develop healthy habits through sports. They can participate in athletics offered by the Diocese of Lexington or join local teams through the Paris School System. Many of our students also run with the Bourbon County Running Club for track and cross country or swim competitively with the YMCA Swim Team. If you’d like more information about athletic opportunities for your child, please let us know — we’d be happy to help you get connected!
